Front bumper dent
Does anyone know how to fix a front bumper dent? I've seen several YouTube videos where a dent can be popped out after softening the plastic with hot water. I tried this on my 2009 pre-facelift Octavia MKII. I managed - with a lot of effort pushing at the back of the bumper - to force the dent out. But as soon as I let go the bumper returned to its dented shape. Of course, in the YouTube videos the bumper remains popped out in its correct shape. I'm now thinking of taking the bumper off and trying the hot water method again. I'm sure it will be easier with the bumper no longer on the car. But I don't want to waste time and effort taking the bumper off if the method is likely to fail again. Has anyone successfully popped out a bumper dent? Thanks.

Paint code?
I received a prompt reply from my local dealer, Listers Coventry. The paint code for my car is F5X Prince Blue Metallic. The code F5X appears to correspond to 9154 as I expected. But wherever I look online the code 9154 is referred to as Satingrau or Satin Gray or Satin Grey. So grey basically. And my V5 says Grey also. Yet the car is a shade of blue. Which begs the question: how can the colour be described as both blue and grey?

Paint code?
I have a 2009 pre-facelift Octavia MkII and it looks the same colour as your Roomster. Yet on the V5 document the colour is described as Grey. I'm fairly sure that the code will be the same as yours - 9154 - but I need to find out for sure as the car needs a new bonnet and front bumper. So I've emailed my local Skoda dealer to see if they can help (I have no sticker in the boot displaying the paint info). I'm awaiting their reply.

1.9 TDI PD DSG engine sounds rough when vehicle moving
Update. The DSG had to be rebuilt, as far as I can make out, at great expense (most of it labour charges) , but now the car runs beautifully.

1.9 TDI PD DSG engine sounds rough when vehicle moving
I took the car to a specialist VAG garage today and apparently the problem is due to a mechanical fault of some sort with the DSG gearbox. It can be repaired for a large fee.

Parking Sensors issue - 2009 Superb
The rear parking sensor on my 2009 Octavia 1.9 TDI DSG stopped working a few weeks ago for no apparent reason. When I select reverse gear I hear a few warning beeps (which I assume are to notify me that there is a problem) and no rear proximity display appears on the radio screen like it used to. I've tried squirting WD40 into each of the sensors but to no avail.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm also not an expert so any help is appreciated.

1.9 TDI PD DSG engine sounds rough when vehicle moving
Hi. Perhaps someone will recognise this problem. My 2009 1.9 TDI PD DSG (92K miles) has been really reliable but recently the engine has been sounding increasingly rough when the car is in motion. Up to about 30 miles an hour the engine sounds fine but then from 30 up to about 50 it sounds quite rough. From 55 upwards the harsh sound reduces but is still there. If I rev the engine with the car in neutral I don't hear any harsh vibration. The problem only occurs when the car is moving.
