Oil Change on 2017 Skoda Octavia VRS TSI 2.0 230bhp

Featured Replies

Dear all,

Had my new toy delivered on Saturday - a lovely Skoda Octavia VRS TSI 2.0 230bhp in Red (best colour). He is called Red Run and is a 2017/2018 FL VRS. The mileage is about 31000 miles.

I am going through dealing with the poor servicing on the engine (Ill rant about the quality of the servicing from an Authorised Skoda dealer elsewhere); I have done the air filter and cabin filter (fitting the glovebox back was fun). Now I want to do the oil and filter.

I assume that the oil filter is located in the highlighted area but wanted to check beforehand.

I am assuming that VW 508 grade oil is needed. How much oil do I need for engine?

Many thanks

Max

Hi, yeah that is the oil filter. It’s about 5.2L to fill it from empty I believe but someone else can confirm. Think I’m 502/504 spec oil but mine is a 220 from 2013.

Actually 5.7 litres on that engine. Had mine serviced twice before  trading in for my present car.:)

No far off but makes all the difference. I knew I was in doubt about my 5.2 estimate.
