Replacement Key Fob

Featured Replies

The case of one of my key fobs has become very worn and cracked.  The actual key remote works fine, it's just it has a split where you activate the remote boot lid.

Is there anyway of replacing the case only?  The elctronics are fine.  Or getting a complete repacement withou going via the dealer who I guess will be very expensive.

I had the same problem recently with one of the keys of my 2015 Octavia. The key shell that I needed was ebay item no. 333268201125

For instructions I followed this youtube video:

Caution is needed when separating the two halves of the main body. If you let the metal parts spring out, you may not be able to figure out how to put them back in. Best try this on the old key first to make sure you are getting it right. You may find that the two halves of the old key have been glued together, and need a bit of extra care when separating them.

You will need a T6 torx screwdriver. My new key has a VW emblem, not Skoda, but it does the job.

Thank you all for the feedback.  I'll tell you how I get on once the part arrives from ebay.

Using the part from Ebay and a T6 torx screwdriver plus the youtube video I have replaced the cover old my key fob. Now looks like new.

Thank you for the feedback.
