A friendly hi to all.  I am new Skoda Scala owner, purchasing in March of this dreaded year.  It's the first Skoda I have owned, and already I have found some helpful tips, tricks, and info through this insightful and knowledgeable community so thank you.

 

A little about me, 36, from central beds,  only had 3 cars before this, first being a VW 96N Polo that I absolutely loved and spent a lot of time modifying as it was such an easy car to tinker with.  Secondly a Toyota Aygo which was just a little run around when I wasn't commuting by train. Thirdly a Ford Focus 61plate, my first family car and did the job but never got any particular joy from.  And now I am on to my Scala that I love more than my first Polo.  I am a 3D artist and animator by profession, and my main enjoyments in life are my family and snowboarding.

 

My car is a Scala SEL 1.0TSi 115PS 6 Speed Manual, in Moon White, Exterior Design Pack (inc Panoramic glass roof, Full LED headlamps with cornering and dynamic range control, separate daytime running lamps, extended glass tailgate), and 18" Vega Alloys.

 

Since owning I have replaced the bonnet badge to the all black Monte Carlo style badge, added genuine Scala Alu door sills, and purchased the double sided boot floor, all parts purchased through superskoda as they were near half price compared to the dealer.

 

I have also, already and rather depressingly, had a collision with a juvenile female (Doe) deer.  Unfortunately living near the Chiltern Hills and Ashridge Estate it is one of those things that is sometimes just unavoidable.  True enough, driving through the Estate late at night, a deer ran out from the woodland onto the road and, although I managed to brake and swerve, she hit my passenger side headlight and collapsed on to the bonnet.  Damage is a broken bumper, headlight, wing, bonnet, and a dent in the passenger door too, fortunately it was a slow impact and airbags weren't set off and family in car were fine, just shaken.  Been waiting for the parts but it's finally booked in for middle of this month and garage have agreed to swap out my chrome grille surround for the Black Magic grille surround from a Monte Carlo edition at the same time, silver linings.  Will post some pics when I can.
