Sunroof Blind Cassette - How To Get To It?

Featured Replies

Howdy,

Recently reversed into  a fence post (don't ask...) and since then the sunroof blind cassette has developed an annoying rattle.

Insurer repair agent #1 wanted to get to it by ripping out the ceiling trim. Told the insurer I'd need a different repair agent. Agent #2 wanted to replace. the. entire. roof. Told Agent #2 to just fix the rear bumper and spoiler damage and told the insurer their repair agents suck.

erWin Online doesn't want to give me login details, the publicly available maintenance and repair guides don't mention sunroof + blind disassembly/reassembly, and my step-father's copy of ElsaWin (? I think that's the name) doesn't have a complete set of instructions due to the way he acquired it and also due to the way that program makes you search for info. I can see some low-res exploded parts diagram, and some high-level disassembly/reassembly steps but nothing of detail. Oh, and the local Skoda service agent has problems hiring mechanics who can read and follow instructions. Harsh, but you should see the expensive mess they made to my wife's Volvo, which was the first major service to a Volvo they performed after taking over the Volvo servicing for our area.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of disassembling the sunroof so I can get to the sunroof blind cassette and fix the rattle?
