Thinking of having these wrapped in proper wood finish e.g, walnut etc.

On the Yeti you could buy the trim in a wood finish. 

Has anyone wrapped these pieces?

The trim pieces on the door of my Scout are wood but the bits on the dash are piano black. I think the interior would look a bit more cohesive if the dash trims were wood as well.

 

I also find myself getting blinded by the chrome pieces of the steering wheel and vent surrounds. I am seriously considering giving them a rub and having them sprayed alloy silver to match the wing mirror caps and bumper trim pieces.
