Skoda octavia vrs

Featured Replies

Hi All im new to this,

I have a problem with my skoda octavia vrs 2009, I went to start it the engine started 3seconds later it turned off automatically, my ref, fuel and temperature are all staying up when key is out of engine.

No light from clock but the rest of the lights come on as usual.

Got it checked by local garage they are saying clock and immblzsor, but this don't rest my heart as I'm thinking its something else,

Has one gone through this before or anyone car help?

Ps there was no issue with the car before this, it was driving fine.

Kinds Regards

Mohamed Ali

Starting then turning off after a few seconds = immobiliser.

Hi PetrolDave, thank you for the quick response,

So is it electrical issue or faulty Immobiliser?

Thanks once again.

If you have a spare key, try that.

Fault finding this over the internet isn't possible, you'll need to get a fault code scan done (I always suggest using VCDS but other diagnostic tools are available) which will give information about why the immobiliser is unhappy.

Looks like you have some fuse checking and wire tracing to do - don't ignore the 49493 no communication with instrument cluster as this plays an important role in the immobiliser to ECU communication.

Hi Dave,

Its been a crazy day trying to sort this issue,

Well the last information I have is that its 100% the Immobiliser not communicating with the ECU so the guy said he will Erase the Immobiliser from the ECU and then it will run as usual (Hopefully), without having a Immobiliser registered to the car.

So thats tomorrow's job.

Wish me the best that I get the car back tomorrow in peace, well without the immobiliser.

Thanks 😊
