2006 fabia 1.2 htp rough idle

Featured Replies

Hi all,

long time browser first time poster here, I have a 2006 Skoda fabia 1.2 htp which i have owned for 4 years and now has 79k miles, throughout lockdown this idling problem has been getting progressively worse.

3 weeks ago i had it serviced and mot'd and asked them to see if they could find the fault, cylinder 3 misfire so the plugs and coils were changed, after this the idle problems continued and another fault was found  which was the engine to servo pipe being split which i then replaced and cleaned the throttle body, this has improved the idle level, but once the car is warm it starts to lose power and idles really badly and the engine warning light will come on. i have a OBD2 scanner which i have plugged in and the same fault of cylinder 3 misfire comes up still.

any advice to this problem would be greatly appriceated.

Thanks very much.

Get a compression test done. I fear you may find that cylinder 3 has abnormally low compression, causing the misfiring.
