mk1 hatch dog guard

are there any other dog guards that will fit the mk1 hatch Octavia.

or do i have to stick with ones specifically for the pre2004 hatch?

Some of the others that fit more recent models or even the Fabia, look remarkably similar.

Keep a look out on here for people breaking Estates or selling the dog guards as they do come up. They also pop up from time to time on eBay. The MK2 and up are completely different fitment so stick to the MK1 style/year 99-04.

The estate and the hatch are different  and it has to be the hatch.. 

I have been looking ages- everywhere.

Skoda no longer have them

a determined dog will get through any of the 'universal' fits  that exist for the mk1 hatch

I finally found a Travall one which may come up on ebay gumtree etc

Travall themselves sell 2 more universal ones - a tubular and a mesh but told me that  although the mesh is stronger than the tubular , a determined dog like mine will be able tyo push through as , like all universal ones, it attaches via headrests only.

They directed me to a specific one TDG0338 - reduced as of today from £105 to £70.

Still more than I wanted to pay for a bit of metal

It fits the space and attaches much better to the actual car.

I am just off the phone again to Travall and they confirm they are phasing it out and only have 13 left in stock.

Mind you they also said the last one they sold was in January 2020.

 

If you are very lucky and live near to Boot buddy who do see through perspex , they will cut one especially  for you if you drive there .They also have none for the MK1. No extra cost for the personalised cutting
