Remaps and wheels

Featured Replies

Hello, who does the best basic remaps these days? I used to look at superchips but others must do same for a bit less? Also, if I want to swap to steel wheels do I / should I drop down to 16" from the fitted 17s?

Cheers, Matt

I think 16" steels will be a lot easier to source than 17", you will get a more comfortable ride if you spec the tyres to have the same circumference as the 17".

Depends what you're looking to achieve, and how long you're looking to run it, which should decide your budget and therefore the right supplier.

If you don't mind reliability or want a 1-on-1 relationship with the remap provider, you could go cheaper/ non-mainstream. And it might be 100% issue-free the entire life of the car - or it might be problematic.

Otherwise, the big brands like Revo / APR / Racingline etc do good mapping for higher costs - but have proven reliability and quality models, due to the international standards required of them. They are also more consistent with aftercare and updates / support, as needed.

Remap Kings who now own Superchips have a good following and reputation. They are also doing £100 off maps until the end of November.

Thanks for that, if the quarantine & travel arrangements allow it then that may well have saved me £45.
