Warnings without faults?!

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Just had the car serviced and MOT'd and barely a week later I've got my constant companions back - Alternator Workshop and Emissions Workshop.

I asked the garage to hook it up and find any fault codes and check the alternator and belt (both new on 2 years ago).

Nothing. All fine. Apparently the Emissions Workshop light came on at some point in the MOT as it's there as an advisory but otherwise no problem and it's been off since.

I'm less worried about the emissions one, as the car's only done short runs since February bar one trip down to Dorset which gave it a proper run and it went off after about 50 miles, but now I notice that the dash illumination can get a bit wobbly for a while after the Alternator Workshop sign has been on.

Frankly I'd like to see the back of both of them, but is anyone else suffering from a dashboard that's permanently nagging them?!?

Went back to the garage and about a mile away from arriving the emissions warning went off! They had a look but no fault code came up.

Alternator's fine, only fitted 2 years ago, and the belt is no problem.

Just been out for a 20-mile run to do Christmas shopping and the Emissions light is back on again!
