Canbus replacement

When it comes to canbus module replacement, does it only have to sort it with just putting the same l-code from factory one to the  newer and just work, or could need something else to do?

This mainly for the Columbus being  a young  version and a few small incompatibilities need to be sorted..

Current one is,
