After Market Alloy Wheels and Tyres

Featured Replies

I have a set of 8J X 18 ALLOY WHEELS with 225-40-18 tyres fitted these don't quite cover rim edges.

Can I fit 235-40-18 or 245-40-18 size tyres so they will protect the rims.

I purchased wheel and tyre set online for £650 the 4 wheels alone are £450 meaning the tyres are cheap £50 each which I would like to change to Continental.

Any advice on what tyre size I can go to on 18inch 8j rims please?

im lowered on 235-40-19 and cant go any wider as they wont fit. i have no rub at all but no way i can go 245. 235 gives a nice lip

235 is wide enough on 19s, lowered you wont get rub you might be able to go to 245 but personally i dont see any need

I just put 235 40 18 Pirellis on mine and there are no problems. I have improved ride quality, but new tyres does that :)
