Problem with the hvac flaps

Featured Replies

Hello, does anyone know if there is a procedure for resetting the positions of the hvac flaps. The problem is that when you push to blow only on the legs, the wind blows also from the middle openings. For older models, there is procedure AC + medium blowers, but for MK3 this procedure is not compatible.
The car is 2016 with the digital climate control

I have not ever taken too much notice of how things work, but, the centre vents can be controlled individually by manually opening or closing them, so I think only the vents and directions that can't be manually controlled, are the only ones that get controlled from the auto HVAC control panel - ie like the "feet" ones and the "face" ones.

My lack of knowledge about this is that typically, outside mid summer period, the 2 centre vents stay closed and the  2 outer ones get directed to the side windows.

The problem is that they stay little open when i press only to blow in the feet. When i pres only in windshield they dint blow. I check another car that when is pressed only feet they do not blow. The problem is in my car and I'm looking for solution for this problem.

Okay, I've only ever checked any of the smart controllers using VCDS, though, when I cast my mind back, the main reason that I bought VW Group cars with the auto version of HVAC, was for its inbuilt self diagnostics ability - then bought VCDS  and never used the auto controller to check for faults or adapt flaps.
