Can someone help me I have a 2002 Skoda fabia mk1 8v petrol comfort I need to replace the power steering rack but is it the trw one I need for my car i can't see the numbers on the rack as on the car many thanks. 

Yeah I seem to remember reading on here that all UK supplied cars come with TRW.

Seals have went on it that's what the the guy at the garage said

I've been searching for the part number you gave me yesterday. The 6q2423061g . The closet I can find to that is 6q2423051p would that part work on my car many thanks for help.

Dunno, sorry. Is it on ebay? Link? I think there are confusing part numbers printed on the labels.  Vaguely think that there's a part number for just the rack, then another, different one for the whole lot including track rods and ends. 

No idea how to look up part numbers for the latter. If it's from a UK car 2002 or earlier it should be OK as far as I know.  Trouble is, being that old, they're not exactly going to be 'fresh'.

 

How badly are the seals leaking?  Some owners just fit new gaiters and clips and top up the fluid, living with the fact that the fluid will gradually leak into the gaiters over time.

 

 

Think mite just go for a new one with the age thing could happen again thank you for your help.
