I've brought another vRS !!!

Featured Replies

After weeks of looking at different cars with a view to trading in the Fabia vRS, we've had a change of heart and decided to keep the Fabia. Instead we're going to trade in the Focus as part payment against a Mk1 Octy vRS estate. Took it for a test drive last week and were well impressed with the car. Got a good p/ex deal on the Focus and so rang the garage today to confirm the deal.

Many thanks to the folks down at mid-cornwall cars, especially bigsi's dad

All we're waiting for now is the baby to arrive - should have been here last Thursday:rolleyes:

Good move mate.

My little brother prepared for fatherhood by ordering a new Octavia Mk2 vRS - the sensible choice :D

Good luck with the new arrival. Having a car as a new arrival is much easier, eh? ;)

So, what are the two cars then, in detail? Just so I can look out for them. :D

good to see someone else with same choice  ha ha . ull love the estate m8

We'll now have an 04 silver Fabia vRS and an 03 silver Octavia vRS estate. They had to be silver or I'd have to change my name !!!

We've also got an MX5 but that's got to go now to help pay for the Octavia!!!

Oh and I've got a MKIII Spitfire which has been sitting in my parents garage for the last decade or two:eek:

I wish but unfortunately it's the Triumph version with the slightly smaller engine.

I just borrowed it to go on down to Falmouth as I had driven a 1.4mpi furbie 200 miles down to Si's and needed to let my legs go straight for a while :D ...but for the 50 odd miles I had with it it seemed to be quite a nice car

And no I didn't thrash it :P too many cameras and police to do that.

It was totally different to one I used to have....a long time ago ......last september :D

It was only the second one I've tested and it felt much quicker than the previous one. We took it down a couple of quiet roads but, obviously, with your wife due to give birth on that day it would be stupid to drive it on the limit.

Unfortunately when we swapped over and I let her drive it back to the garage it was as if she was trying to make the baby appear there and then as I shouted "BRAKE" as we approached a nasty bend.

"Well I've got to try it out if you're going to buy it" was her reply.

It's quite a good "Q" car as it doesn't stand out as much as the other colours ........found out it surprises a few people at the lights, as they don't see it for what it is.....and oh yes the brakes do work very well on a Vrs estate.

Trouble is now Si has moved on I shall have find somewhere else for my test drive "fix" now :(

What was the Octy that you had last year ?

I've only dealt with Ron at the garage but have spoken to Simon. I thought it was father and son? Seems a good dealer, better than our local dealer, I only wish I'd tried them as well before buying our Fabia vRS.

Had a red VRS estate for 3 months but couldn't keep up with the petrol...and it kept on grounding on everything, wouldn't go up friends driveways etc. when I parked it nose to nose with a wrc rally octy it was 2 inches lower  so that was probably the reason.....yours is Ok though it did 38 mpg and had no problems with the speed humps. just thought .........I am sure yours has reversing sensors

Mine had to go back .....but I really like my present car a superb pd 130 tdi ....I think a furbie would fit inside :D

It is father and son but Si said it was time for a change and is moving on ..... but normally a very laid back garage .....would you like to test drive it sir.....just come back sometime today :D
