The electrics on my 2012 Superb have just gone crazy.  All of the following occurred after I inserted a power test probe (probe at one end, alligator clip at the other and a bulb in the handle) into the female trailer light socket.

Symptoms: electric estate door stopped working, central locking unlocks but not locks, trailer signal and brake lights no power, interior light doesn't light when door opens, screen washer pump only sprays lights!

The first auto electrician couldn't diagnose the error, but confirmed that it's not a fuse issue.

There is no sunroof and no water ingress issues.

This is a major drama as all the auto sparkies are closed over christmas and we have a beach holiday planned that involves a trailer.

I'd love your thoughts on ways I can try and diagnose.

cheers D

Not sure on Skoda's but first port of call on my Citroen C5's was a '3 pin' reset.... Pull the battery and let it settle down and then re fit, cured all sorts, cheap option if nothing else?

Mate, don't like your chances for a VCDS out there, but you never know, someone in Canbrurrr (as Schtum mentioned) may be able to help.

As above, disconnect battery and go for a reset to start with. How is the battery health also?

Good luck
