The last time I drove past the pub it look like it was shut as it had to let signs outside.

 

There is a pub slightly closer to petersfield called the seven stars which has a big car park.

Tried these events there before but it was quite a way on for some people, and a bit pricier.

 

West Meon Hut I'm sure is reopen again now, I drove past yesterday and it looked like it was open.

You may be right, Google seems to suggest it is opening on the 6th June!
