Passenger door Window electrics.

Featured Replies

Hi, advice please on passenger door Window probs please . Replaced both driver and passenger door switches. Also drivers side motor which fixed that side. If I press the window switch down it goes about 2 inches and stops. Press again and down another 2 inches, This continues all the way down. Press up the same, 2 inches at a time for 3 presses then stops. If I press down once then it allows a further 3 presses up and stops again etc etc. I have just replaced the drivers side motor and exactly the same thing happens. This happens from both the drivers and passenger door switches. The car had been sat for 18 months and yes water ingress which I have now fixed. Any ideas? Driving me nuts.

See what happens if you help the glass move in the appropriate direction by pushing up or down with a palm on the glass as you activate the switch.

Measure the battery voltage before and after starting the engine, to assess its state of charge and the health of the charging system.

Thanks, I will give that a try tomorrow.  Battery is a new heavy duty job so will give it a quick test. Tks again.Alan

Hi. I have exactly the same problem with my car. Will check as suggested and update.
