POllertonHi everyone, long story short, my dad has always helped me with my cars etc, and due to a falling out I now have a 63 plate monte carlo 1.2 tech sat on my driveway, that still needs work and I've no clue how to fix it.

I need a rear bumper for it,  but trying to find one second hand is killing me off, not bothered about colour, just can't find one with trim etc tried the breakers etc, I have another fabia 58 plate, I know it isn't monte carlo, but could I use the rear bumper off that for the time being?

Thanks to anyone who replies, I'm stuck atm and need my vehicle on the road :(

Try calling skoda directly for a quote on a rear bumper. I had this issue with my front bumper back in summer and had to get a garage to mend it at the cost of an arms and a leg

Thats what I'm trying to avoid atm, looking for my cheapest fix to get it Road worthy untill the end of Jan when I could possibly buy one new, Thanks 👍

this is why its important to post your car details............if you dont specfiy then this is what happens.

No they are both hatch backs............

he has listed it wrong, that will fit your car.

Part number is in piccy.......

5J9807431  the 5J is the Fabia 2.

Might be worth asking what condition your old one was in... Was it completely wreaked?  I assume you lost the trim part as you seem to need that. I would have thought a "Normal" bumper would physically "Fit" from an anchorage POV, but would not match up with the wheel arches etc. To that, it would look cr4p. I would either find one in the full Monty spec and colour or even a wrong colour but in sound condition so as to either paint it or sell it on again if I manage to find the correct colour match. I know a main dealer used to charge around £360 for a standard bumper, painted and fitted so this might be worth thinking of as a starting point. Unpainted bumpers are usually fairly cheap new, on the bay and from panel specialists so getting one and having it painted locally to yourself or even finding someone who paints to your code, may eb a good choice and may save around 50% from a dealer price but you will have to fit it. I am quite surprised at how much some scrappies/breakers want for panels that are often such poor quality paintwork or damaged, but they will almost certainly suggest that it is a "Genuine" part, hence the cost. Decent aftermarket parts are often just as good, specially if insurance approved!
