Hello from Croatia/Canada

Featured Replies

Hello to all,

just registered. Recently returned from Canada to my home land Croatia, retirement is here. I have been driving Saab cars all my life, but 10 years ago I purchased Skoda 105 L (1986) from a friend. Since then it has been waiting in my barn here in Croatia. Latest inspection did not reveal any nasty surprises - everything looks ok, no mice nests inside and the engine turns over ( but it does not want to start yet :)

The car is in great shape, only around 80K km, and I am looking forward to making it my daily driver soon.

Hopefully this community will help me if/when needed but I also hope to be able to help others - I maintained & fixed all my cars myself for the last 50 years so I believe my knowledge could be applied here as well.

Wow a 105 L ... nice. Good luck with your project :) Welcome on board.

Nice ... :) Seems rust free from the picture ...

Welcome. :)

That is a very nice 105. Feel free to load more photos, it looks it fantastic condition.

I'm not sure which is worse; barn envy, retirement envy, or 105 envy.  Think I've got a touch of all three! :envy:

Enjoy your new found freedom and toy B)

Thank you all for you nice comments !

Gaz, understand you :)  I was waiting for this for the last 10+ years.... I just hope that my health will stay good enough for some time more.

This 105 was owned by someone I knew, when he died in 2010 I purchased the car from his son. The old gentleman never went out with 105 if the weather was not nice and dry. The body is really in remarkable condition, only a few small spots of rust here and there. As for the engine & drivetrain, I will see. The engine is not seized, the brakes & clutch are. I am looking forward to start working on her.  I am just wondering how difficult will be to source parts - if anyone can recommend some online resources I would appreciate it.

Here are few more photos.

Wow. :)  That really has survived incredibly well. What a fantastic example.

Good luck with the mechanical restoration and keep us updated on how it's going.
