1.9 TDI static flywheel on a 2.0tdi?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I've been sneaking on this forum for the past 2 years having first driven my dads 2007 octavia when I got my license and then proceeding to buy my own Octavia from 2008 last summer (which now unfortunately will be scrapped due to the oilpump chain going out into the world through the engineblock)

So I must say thank you to this whole community for making me aware of solenoid failures on the turbo and various other faults common on the skodas. They've been of great help.

But now I have a question which I haven't found an answer to on this forum (maybe I'm just bad at looking) and the question is if a flywheel (and clutchpackage) from a 2008 1.9tdi BXE would fit on a 2006 2.0tdi? I'm asking this since I've been looking at a "new" octavia for myself. The car in question is driven 335k km so the clutch could be ready for replacement so I was wondering if it would be possible to take the clutch from my old 08 Octavia and put it in the new one?

Oh and I could also add that the flywheel is swapped to a static flywheel in my old octavia, hence why it would be nice to have in my new car, if I buy it. And the clutch is only driven about 6000km so it's basically still new. Would suck to have it go to parts.

And if this has already been answered or if I'm the wrong thread please notify me, I'm new here so I'm still learning the ropes  :)

I don’t believe the 1.9 and 2lt are compatible clutch or flywheel wise. I hope someone will come along and confirm that also.
