Sat Nav Upgrades

Featured Replies

Good evening, I am new to this site so bear with me if this has been raised before.

I have a 2017 vRS TDI and my wife a 2017 Fabia.  We both have Sat Nav but hadn't upgraded them since new.  However, I now wish I hadn't bothered.

I went to the portal, followed the instructions saved the contents of the SKODA SD card and then formatted the card.  I then downloaded the new maps (approximately 13Gb) and transferred the new maps on to the card (16GB).  Feeling pleased as punch went back to the card to see a message along the lines of "No navigation data".  This was for both cars.

I DM'd SKODA to be told that I would need a 32Gb card and that I would have to but them from a dealer.  Contacted the dealer, they say I must buy 'pre loaded' cards at a cost of over £250 per card!  Went back to SKODA to ask about blank cards to be told I would have to buy the 'pre loaded' ones.

I then tried to re-install the old maps and guess what......?!

I now have two cars with Sat Nav that cannot be used.  Any advice or guidance will be greatly appreciated.  I use a MacBook Pro if that is of any interest.

Thanks

Hello Lammus :hi:

Your question isn't at all uncommon and there'll be a more straightforward answer than giving Skoda £250.

If you pop your question in the audio/security sub forum:

You'll likely get a quicker response from someone far more knowledgeable than me.
