Included Schuko charger with the iV

Featured Replies

Hi fellers,

I've been using the included Schuko charger cable on 10A outlets so far.

I have found that there actually are some public 16A Schuko chargers in my city.

Will I be able to charge 3,7 kW on these with the included charger cable?

Best regards

Oskar

Hi,

I do not think so as the charger will limit the current to 10A as it has no idea what it is plugged into.

If you use the type 2 cable in a proper charger you will be able to get the max charge rate (still limited to 3.6Kwh)

Or if you have a fitted charge point at home but the max 3.6 still applies.

I understand, thought maybe it would work with some amount of magic.

So to be able to charge 3,7 kW/16 A via Schuko i would need a cable with the option to switch between 10 A and 16 A which i suppose the included cable is not capable of.

Correct,

you can get some on eBay or Amazon but the supplied cable is fixed
