Potential buyer of mk3

Featured Replies

Good evening all,

Hope everyone is well.

I currently have a mk1 Fabia VRS, however I am thinking of keeping this for weekends only and getting a mk3 Fabia for daily commutes to work (that’s when/if we actually return to the office!).

My local Skoda dealer have some mk3s for sale which are mostly the 1.0 TSI colour editions. Originally I did fancy a Monte Carlo model however I have my VRS for power so lower specs are taking precedent for me due to how much cheaper they are.

What are the 1.0 TSI’s like? Some are the ‘75ps’ models which I can only imagine are underpowered? I used to have a 6n polo with a 1.0 engine which was so underpowered it was horrendous on fuel as it worked so hard to get up to speed (not saying they’re anywhere near the same engine!). What model would you suggest? My mrs used to have a SE before we traded it in for a Yeti.

Plans would be simple, probably just a set of coilovers, wind deflectors etc etc. I’ve tried searching the gallery and even google but can’t really find many modified. Could you guys please post some pictures?

Thanks in advance!

Just realised the 75ps is MPI and the 90, 95, 110ps are the TSI. Are the TSI’s the preferred option?

I recently bought a new SEL 110ps TSI estate and it's surprisingly nippy compared to my previous 2.0 litre Octavia estate.

By using CarWow the price was amazing (less than a SE 95ps TSI hatch). It was a stock car with extras (zero mileage) at a dealership 60 miles away.  So for a bit of research and a little drive you might get a bargain.
