Start stop error

Featured Replies

Started car when I left work and orange coil symbol was flashing. Checked infotainment system and it said "start stop error". Also had a look in the manual which says that symbol means an engine management fault and that car may go into limp home mode and to proceed with caution.

It was certainly in limp home mode, as car had hardly any acceleration and I did barely 60mph all the way home in the slow lane. Symbol flashing all the time. Weirdly, checked infotainment again when I got home, and although the symbol was still flashing, there was no error message and it said start stop system was available. Car has now done just over 18,900 and is booked in for its first ever service next week. However, as I'm still covered, I rang Skoda Assistance and someone will be out tomorrow morning.

I'll have had the car for a year on Monday. Not quite the anniversary I'd got planned!

We really need the CANBUS fault code to give further clues. When repair guy comes out ask him to show you the error codes from the car and post it up here.

OK, so turns out it needed a new fuel sensor. Fixed on my driveway within an hour, and covered under roadside assistance, but still a bit peeved that something has already failed on the car.
