EVO DV on a 1.8T ?!

Featured Replies

During a hypothetical conversation that never took place with someone who shall remain nameless, it was suggested that the standard Diverter Valve fitted to Mitsibishi EVO 7's worked very well on the 1.8T.

Is this true ?

Dont see why not the princepals are the same in any turbo system ..

Its OK Phil, he told YOU not to put anything on "that website" ;)

i put one on mine the other day and it worked fine for about 2 weeks then it blocked for some reason, twittered instead of dumping so the old one went back on. Havent looked into it any further as just wanted to see if there was any difference. The numbers were both very similar and made by bosch...

While the EVO was on there was ther eany noticable difference in either performance or sound?

pretty sure a Porsche turbo recirc will work as well. the forge recirc for the 1.8t is the same anyway

I reckon it might have been a tad stronger as it didnt seem to be dumping the boost quite so early.

With the original one on I can hear it at low speeds in high gears and seems to be leaking a bit...

So yes the evo one did feel slightly stronger, but no real difference in noise. I have got one of those cheapy ebay cai so can hear it quite a lot anyway. (which incidentaly will be coming off when I get a minute as at a rr the other day only got 199 bhp and have a read out from the previous owner for 215 so could easily have lost me power!

Not wishing to hijack my own thread with another topic but......... thats exactly what I found when I had one fitted. However, Beretta has one and is producing very healthy power figures.

my standard bhp and torque are up by around 3bhp with a jabba sport induction kit and bailey dv30 fitted...

obviously thats on an otherwise standard car.
