Service

Featured Replies

I am due a service on my skoda rapid and normally I go to local skoda garage to get the service.

I'm thinking about going to kwick fit this time as I can save over £100.

What are the advantages of staying with the skoda garage?

Welcome.

You do not say the cars age or mileage.

There is no advantage of going to a Skoda Main Dealer over a VW Group Independent that will do the work and not just charge for doing it even if they do not.

Personally i would not put my car to Kwik Fit  even if they were paying me £100 to let them do the service.

I wouldn’t trust Kwik Fit to service my grandsons pedal car properly :)

Our local Kwik Fit are very knowledgeable and when my free services have been used at the Skoda dealer I will definitely be putting my business there and saving money, something that any Scottish person would understand and appreciate.

Sometimes they train Guide Dogs for the stupid especially for English People that know the price of somethings and the value of little.

I know of a Kwik Fit or 3 with mechanics that works in them.

But there is no guaranteed to be the one working on your car.

You could get the one that drains the oil, wipes clean the oil filter that did not get changed then puts a dirty mark on it.

A kick in the balls does give then something to think about though.

Some Kwik Fit are now Tyre City.

If you have a Mobility Car you still need to use Kwik Fit or Tyre City for tyres, or tracking, but they will not do the tracking, they will just fit tyres if they can get away with it, saying tracking being off is not a safety issue.

You see some things that happen that are unbelievable if you hang around long enough at a Tyre & Exhaust Fitting Centre..

Car year is 2017 and mileage is 36k.

I've always used skoda garage as they know the car inside out, know exactly the right parts to get and offer a great service.

But it is expensive.

Kwik Fit did a service and MOT on my 2010 Fabia Estate back in 2013 for just £115 much cheaper than my Skoda dealer at the time using genuine parts.

Did you have any problems with the car after the kwick fit service?

No, kept the car another year and sold it at 4 years old.

Fair enough. Not sure I trust them but the savings are tempting.

When my Octavia was out of warranty I used a local independent - half the price and no hassle/delay getting a loan car.

For many years before we moved I used a VW independent near Southampton, was always 100% happy with their work.

I only use dealers when I have to - during the warranty period.

The last time I used Kwif Fit for tyres they didn't have a clue how to reset the TPMS and they set the tracking up for a different model - so I won't be darkening their door again.

Guess it would be worth finding a good local independent.

If you give us a clue what your nearest town is then a member on here might be able to give you a personal recommendation of a reliable and affordable garage.

Going to a Taxi Rank and asking a driver there where they get the car serviced is sometimes all that is needed.

That would be the driver of a Skoda and not one with a Toyota.

After a Black Cab the Toyota Prius seems to be the second most popular taxi in Leicester and they all drive at exactly 30mph so no point in hailing one if you are in a hurry.:tongueout:

Near Gatwick in west sussex. I have just been recommended Kirkhams, but if anyone can recommend another that'll be great.
