HELP!! Idle rattle 1.4 TDI mk 1

Featured Replies

Hi. I Got an old fabia with 320.000km on it. The last 50.000km with me as owner.

The engine Got a crazy rattle coming from the transmission side of the engine. The rattle is only noticable at idle when in neutral. The rattle stops when

1. the clutch i activated

2. the revs are increased a bit to 1300-1500rpm

3. Pressing the gearlever a bit into gear with No clutch.

in the past month i have had a mechanic put a new clutch incl bearing and new refurb transmission on it. Nothing changed the Sound. he is now clueless to What it could be. His only suggestion is that the clutch release bearing is somehow bad.

the car Got smf and not dmf

today i tried to remove the slavecylinder to fell for excesive vibrations in the bearing. Nothing to notice. The video is from today.

hope you can help :)

SMF, I'm amazed you even have to ask.

Fit DMF, no rattle.
