MIB 2.5 background screen colour in 2014 vRS

Featured Replies

Quick question. Is it possible to change the screen background colour on the MIB 2.5 head unit in a 2014 vRS with VCDS? I would like to change it from grey to red. Also the Maxidot if possible.

I have seen a reference to the RGB values in Controller 09 adaptions. They are 225, 225, 225, which does make grey but nothing happened when I changed them to 225,0,0 (dark red).

Hopefully someone has the answer to this.

@SashaGracemight be able to answer this one as she has done many similar upgrades to her 2014 Octavia Vrs Estate.

I did think this. Fingers crossed. I know she added the colour selection menu to her car but I don't know if it's just coding or a firmware upgrade.

 Thanks.

You need the BCM swapping to achieve this. No mean feat unfortunately but it is possible. I’ve done it and it’s cool but I wouldn’t do it again. Cost isn’t bad if you can DIY but would be £ if you were outsourcing and the hassle really isn’t worth it. You would also need the cluster doing to match as the old clusters don’t have the LIN connection for it.

Thanks for the information Sasha. It's the wife's car so I don't think I'll bother. My FL has it already and although I haven't added all 30 colours, I have added a dark red to the colour pallete as my default background.
