312mm brake discs

Featured Replies

Evening all

Did try searching this before asking 🙈

Having a dilemma I'm fitting some conversion hubs to my mk1 so that the pcd is 5x112 (bolt on adapters are to wide with wheels fitted)

I'm also in the process of converting the front brakes to 986 calipers with 312mm discs

My question is would discs from a mk2 octavia fit or would I need spigot rings ? Obviously buying the 312mm option

Bit of an essay for my first post I apologise 😅

The MK1 312mm front discs have a height of 34.2mm, and the MK2 312mm front discs have a height of 49.5mm.

The MK1 uses 6.5Jx16 ET42 rims whereas the MK2 uses 6.5Jx16 ET50 rims.

Anyone know if they do a multi fit disc that might solve this ?

What is the reason for changing discs and callipers?

If it is for track days, I did a full on open pit-lane day with standard brakes fitted with Ferodo DS2500 pads. No brake fade at any time.

I am a seasoned TDer and made full use of the brakes at the end of the long straight at Rockingham, (only way I could make up time against a Gaggle of TVR Cerberas).

Very impressed with the brakes.

I know the above didn't help but might be useful for someone considering TD's.

Not going to lie mate just like the look of them 🤣

Little lockdown project to keep me busy

Nothing wrong with that. Ive been doing loads on my newly acquired MK1 prepping it for track days. going into more detail than anticipated as we, (I) have loads of time.

I'll be interested to see your completed project.

I'll post pics once I've made some progress accumulating parts atm 😂

What wheels do you propose to fit?

A5 speedlines I believe they're called currently running them with stud adaptors but the sit to wide so catch the arches

Very tempted by a set of TT Comps though so might for that option and run spacers to clear the calipers

They suit well!

I think the disc you need is off an older Audi S3, fairly sure that's what I used when I upgraded to 312's on the caddy. I'm not 100% on that though because it's a few years ago and I can't remember what I had for breakfast most days

I know that's what's driving me to find a set of discs that's will fit but also 312mm for the brembos haha

Was the s3 stud pattern 5x112 if it was a caddy I'm use to land-rovers not going to lie haha

Nice looking wheels ŁÓDŹ. Yes they are a little wide. They look good but I’m sure they will catch the arches.

Mine are Wolfrace Prolite.

they were on another Octavia that I bought a few years back and I’ve saved them for running track tyres on. A couple of little flakes here and there so I may get them powder coated, probably in black I guess.

Little update been in contact with Mtec who can add the 5x112 PCD for extra 25 quid to the 312mm disc's

All is looking good will take pictures when they arrive
