E-Tec vs Non E-Tec

Featured Replies

Trying to convince my hubby to get the new Octavia Sel with E-tec. There isn’t an improvement in mpg compared to the non E-tec so what are the plus points of this?

Im waiting on my e-tec Hatch. I'm not familliar with UK taxes but here in Sweden the lower Co2 gives a tax benefit way over the consumption benefit at only 0,1 liters per 100 km. However, I had a couple of good reviews from friends saying that the e-tec engine is better to drive, battery boost at higher speeds and cruising with engine in energy saving mode is by hearsay a very good experience.  Hope that it's true and I will know in a couple of weeks:biggrin:

Thanks. Are you getting the 1.5?

Nope just the 1.0 L

Thats just the WLTP test figures. Theres probably more of a difference in the real world. For instance theres only supposed to be a slight fuel consumption penalty for mine being 4x4... sure, sure. :wondering:
