Battery going flat and hear a buzzing

Featured Replies

Hi all,  I've got a 2006 m1 fabia vrs, I came out this mornig to find the battery flat,  once I opened the bonnet I could here a slight buzzing noise coming from behind the engine and it sounds like its coming from the egr valve unit.  After charging it was fine but it's still making that buzzing noise once the cars turned off, is this draining the battery?  Has anyone had the same problem?  Just dont know what to do.  HELP

Could it be the ASD flap motor getting stuck, I'm assuming it's a BLT.

Sorry for sounding stupid but what's a ASD flat and what is a BLT? What would I need to to to fix it?

BLT is the code for later vRS engines. Earlier engines were ASZ. The code is on a sticker in the front of your service book and on a duplicate sticker under the boot carpet.

Ok thanks I'll have a look.  So is it a easy fix if it is the asd flap motor?

I don't know what he means by ASD Flap. He will be back to tell us no doubt.

Hopefully,  thanks

Might be anti-shudder valve?

It does sound like the noise is coming from that area, if it is the anti shudder valve, what do I need to do?

Clean it with carb spray I guess. Possible replace if that doesn't work.

Removal should be something like this...
