Glad to hear you got one, and you beat me '2 it :D

Any pictures? Sounds a good price for the spec and mileage

Congrats to you :)

I have a sticker in my car saying that "My other car's a skateboard".

*Ooops! Goes off to change it for a Brisky sticker*

it has a LSD rear wheel drive aswell!! i had a think about one of these haven't researched it but surely wouldn't be tto hard/expensive to transform the 140 1.8vvt engine into the 190 1.8vvt engine in the corolla/celica. (that would be menacing!) fast and nmble and good mpg , nice choice, be my pick of a cheap 2 seater! (mgtf, mx-5 etc)

A lot of people do that.

They also turbo the standard engines. Toyota themselves make a turbo kit aswell, which comes with 3 years warranty and the other warranty isnt effected.

I'm still driving a 190 Celica from work - had it a few weeks now - the Furby's parked up under the watchful eye of our friendly security guard. :cop:

It's bloody awful. 32000 miles and on second engine, gearbox and clutch (our works cars done't get easy lives!). Noisy, slow unless you put 110% in all the time, the gearchange is awful and it drinks like George Best. I couldn't catch a 105 TDi Passat going between roundabouts the other day too  I was in 2nd though - should 've gone down a gear eh?

I would imagine being lighter and MR the 2 copes much better but I'd seriously recommend staying well away from the 190.

Things under consideration for modding are mostly chassis related. The damping is good, so I am looking at a chassis stiffener plate and possibly front strut brace. Having said that, this example feels more rigid than other examples I have driven. Underbonnet mods will probably be minimal. Thinking of replacement manifold with sports cat and custom exhaust. Weight reduction is the key objective here. Probably a replacement panel filter as well and leave it there.

For me, this car is about handling and balance, so loads of mostly inaccessable or laggy power is not really what I am looking for.

Hi

No pictures as yet. I collect it Monday 6pm, so will probably be out driving until 2am. The car is the best of quite a few I have looked at. Many had interiors that were looking a bit tired and less than nice paint, but this one looks well cared for. It also drives very well indeed. I think the guy selling was just being realistic about the price as opposed to most who advertise way too high and expect you to haggle. I did go over budget though (looks over shoulder for missus with rolling pin in hand), but IMO you get so much better car with the 03 on model revisions, so going
