I’ve just had Bilstein B4 rear dampers fitted. I do plan to have the fronts done too. Bilstein list two variants : ( 22131614) & (22139191). I spoke to Bilstein & they advised the first type. Can anyone confirm this ?

According to autodoc, 22-131614 is for standard suspension and 22-139191 is for sports suspension.

 

I would go with the 22-131614 because the Skoda sports suspension is only a 15mm drop from standard. Also, the Bilstein B4 rear shock absorbers are often only available for standard suspension (although Bilstein will say that it's also suitable for sports suspension).

 

So I agree with the advice that you got from Bilstein.

 

There are two diameters of front shock absorbers on the Octavia MK2, 50mm and 55mm. Make sure that the outside diameter of your current struts is 55mm.

Okay thanks. The confusing part is that one would assume the VRS had ‘ sports’ suspension. Still Bilstein only list one type for the rears and I’m more than pleased with them.
