Possible Gateway Module problem

Featured Replies

Hi. ABS, Steering, Traction Control Lights are comin on intermittently. Also losing radio. headlights dimming at nights. What can be the problem and what is the resolution. Have not doen a scan as yet.

ABS, Steering & Traction Control are all linked & need a good battery voltage to work.

The dimming headlights suggest the battery isn't getting a good charge from the alternator.

I would check the battery voltage, should be over 14v with the engine running.

If not that, you will need a VCDS scan.

Thanks. will check

Hi,my 2012 Superb 2.0 TDi Elegance done the exact same thing on Saturday. I had to jump start the car around a week before after -9 overnight temp. I'm thinking it's time for a new battery, didn't know these were symptoms of poor charge/battery condition.

Seems to be a couple of different battery types available online.

Most popular looks like 096 type.

Would that be the correct one?

I don't have S/S so no need for an AGM. Also was thinking of going for one with a higher CCA and Ah rating. If I done this would I need to get the car recoded to suit.

TIA,this is my first post on briskoda 🤗

It's always best to start your own new thread, as this is a slightly different topic.

If you car hasn't had a lot of use over the last few weeks, I would try giving the battery a good slow charge for 24 hours.

An 096 battery is the correct type.

Higher CCA & Ah rating is always good.

No recoding required.

The battery voltage is good, charging 13.75 which my mechanic said is good. Scan did not identify anything specific. He cleared codes and he suspects that it may the comfort module or a wire issues to or from the fuse box. Any other views?
