More Power?

Featured Replies

Hows it going folks,

I have a 1.9L TDI Octavia MkI engine code AXR and I am looking for parts to buy, things to do etc in order to produce more power from the engine.

I would ideally like 150-180bhp (should be currently sitting at 90-100bhp) if possible and if i can get more power safely than i'm open to it. I know a stage 1 remap can get me more power and exhaust but something more specific i.e what turbo's, injectors etc what would be the best thing to do.

Thanks any advice you give,

How long is a piece of string ? ... This is a well documented subject

Work out your budget and plan accordingly - Plenty of research and know what you are getting into. This forum is jam packed with info spanning the last 15 years !

We are unfortunate over here as there are lots of cowboys so try and get somebody who knows their stuff otherwise you will end up with a smoking mess ! I know of lads in the north that are reputable but pricey ... This lockdown dosent help matters but at least you can make plans and not rush into sommit you will later regret !

is the AXR the one put in the "taxi special" used to sell off the mk1 shells from 05-10 by skoda? i assume so if yours is 2008.

first thing - check the injector pt number against the ones for the higher output engines. eg the ALH 1.9 i had in my 04 mk1 could be brought from 90bhp to 110 just by changing the injectors and getting the fueling at idle adjusted..

once the injectors are right, the rest is just ecu mapping as the 1.9s are essentially the same.

as above though, get someone who actually knows what theyre doing, not someone with a dodgy (cloned) vcds lead and a generic set of changes to make.
