e-sound

Featured Replies

Awaiting delivery of my iV I've just discovered what the e-noise on these cars sounds like:

I currently have a Passat GTE which is silent on electric because it pre-dates the legislation. Can anyone with an iV confirm whether it sounds as awful as that clip? And can the unit be replaced with one from an enyaq or id3  whatever? I assume these don't hum like an old diesel too?

It's not quite as bad as that clip but it is definitely an artifical noise. You get used to it after a while but I belive there are ways to turn it down if you have vcds or you can disconnect the speaker the noise comes from... I'm sure there are some other posts on here somewhere about that.

Hi,

my iV is a Mar 2020 one and as far as I can hear does not have the noise maker.

Do you know when they were started to be fitted?

John

Mine was end Jan 20.
