vRS 2011 oil

Featured Replies

Read some threads, but hopefully it's fine if I ask again, just to be sure.

I need to add some oil, I know that 5W30 oil is used, but there's so many different oils, 504.00, 502.00 etc

Car is Octavia vRS 2011 Automatic DSG

It should tell you in your owners manual whether it needs to be VW 502/ VW 504 etc.

From my knowledge it must meet either of those specifications depending on your engine size and whether you have a petrol or diesel engine.

My car is also a FL so can check my book if you let us know whether you have a petrol or diesel engine.

For a TSI it can be VW 502 00 for fixed service intervals so 5w 40 FS,

and for fixed or variable it can be VW504 000 / 507 00,  So 5w 30 FS III

For a TDI it has to be Long Life Oil for fixed or variable servicing, so VW504 00 /507 00    5w 30 FS III

I bought the car quite recently, last oil change was done by previous owner, it's marked as 5W30, so I'd assume what I'm looking for is  VW504 000 / 507 00,  So 5w 30 FS III?

Yes for top ups use as was in at the time of the last oil change.

If you want at the next oil change to go for VW502 00 and do oil changes at 9,4000 miles / 372 days or sooner.

For example, would those work?

MOBIL 1 ESP Formula 5W30(S181-36127)

or

Top Tec 4200 5W-30 C3( S181-LI8973)

Yes,

you are looking for it to say on the bottle that it meets spec VW504 / 507

Quantum, Fuchs, Castrol , Mobil or any engine oil from a super market or motor factor to meet VW 504 00 / 507 00
