Help me choose right et for new wheels

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

I have a 1.4 140hp mk3 with stock suspension and height.

I want to buy 18" wheels and I had in mind that 18x8 et 45 is good both for the car and look.

Now I have 16" with et46

I found some wheels 18x8 ,et 35 and I think they will be ugly . I don't want the wheels going out too much .

Are there any photos to see how it will look??

Please write down your wheel width and et

Hi, I need real photos of your cars and a comment with the dimensions. I want to see how much out will be the wheel. Sorry for my english

Hi H, you dont seem to be getting any help at the moment, so I'll give you my thought.

The ET on the wheels your looking at only stick out 11mm more than the wheels you have got on now.

Measure 11mm out from the tyre, that will give you an idea of where it will be compared to the wheel arch. 11mm isn't much.

Thats my take on things.

I don't think it will be 11mm.

It will be 30mm !!

Isnt there anyone who has 225/40/18 with et35 to see how it looks??

Hi H, et46 to et35 = 11mm . Wheel 11mm further out.

Correct but 6.5" vs 8 "

Ye, I was just focusing on the question about how far wheels would stick out, the J figure is another matter.

I think someone just recently asked about fitting 9Js.

The j fitting is the width. Yes the offset is 11mm different but the rim is wider too. Halve the difference in with added to the offset difference is how far further out it will be.
