Knocking Noise Coming from nearside engine bay and tracking

Featured Replies

hello again i was wondering if you lovely Fabia owners could point me in the right direction i have a 2012 Skoda Fabia 1.2 TDI Greenline 5dr diesel estate. As you can see from my previous post's  had quite a bit of trouble with this car all of them or sorted with help from briskoda apart from 2 which is tracking and knocking nose

I've have had my car tracked twice in 6 months Both garages said my tracking is great I've checked my tyre pressure and their all fine but when i drive it via off to the nearside

The noise that is coming from the nearside engine compartment  I've had it since i bought the car and its been fine for over 2 year its getting annoying now i just what it fixing i heard the noise from a little box i looked up the sticker and it came up as a solenoid valve can anyone tell me what it dose i disconnected the cable attached to it and the car still started would this cause knocking when engine is  idle and were can i buy it from in the UK

THANKS

REF the tracking, first of all it needs to be checked / driven on a road which is 100% flat because most roads have a camber to the nearside and the vehicle will wonder that way.

Does it wonder when you release the steering wheel ? and if it does does the wheel move / turn "off" centre, if it does then it was tracked with the steering wheel off centre and needs rechecking "imo"

REF valve....

the number is there on it..

03P131051

Buy it from any VW / AUdi / Skoda dealer, or used of ebay....example......

It controls boost pressure for the turbo so is def needed.

Thanks for the reply the steering wheel is straight even when i take my hand off it it still via to the left (nearside)

with the valve i seen another number 1K0 906 627 E but mine is 1K0 906 627 B they look the same would that still fit do you know what the last letter is for

The part numbers usually have a slightly different final letter after a mod or after a few years manufacture so usually are fine to swap, in most cases. My guess is the "B" is an older version. (Alphabetically speaking, that makes sense).

Tracking as mentioned, may be fine. It may be down to camber but may also be down to tyre choices so check what you have and ask others if they had issues with that brand. If you have mixed brands, get them changed for matching at the very least, left to right on the same axle, preferably on all four wheels. Make sure too, they are fitted to the correct rotation and on the beads properly. A tracking shop may have looked at the measurements but not necessarily at the tyres. If it is really noticeable and not tyre related, you may need the tracking people to actually offset the tracking a little or sort of set it to the outer/inner limits that may counter the pull. A strange route to take and not one to allow any old tracking place to do.
