Featured Replies

Hi all, can anybody suggest me how to pair my phone with my music system via Bluetooth. It appears to be as BT-Audio but doesn’t gets detected in nu phone.

I think you have to pair your phone via the instrument cluster first.

Long press the up or down button to get into the menu and select phone. There should be an option in there to manage phones.

Says bolero but the pairing procedure should be the same since the Bluetooth module is separate to the stereo:

There’s no such yup send down button in this car. It’s just the audio system that’s posted in the picture .

Which screen do you have in the instrument cluster?

The full Maxidot display? (Like the one in the video)

You should be able to get into the menu with the buttons on the wiper stalk.

Display is not as shown in YouTube video. It’s full button display SWING model.g Not touch screen. Snap of it attached in the original post and here . Also there are no keys near wiper stalk,

 thanks for your efforts.

Yes but I'm trying to determine which instrument cluster you have. The Bluetooth pairing isn't done via the stereo.

Did you watch the YouTube video I posted? If your screen is like that in the video then that's how you pair your phone.

If you don't have that screen then your car doesn't have Bluetooth (and judging by the basic spec with no climate control I'd be very surprised it if did).

But if you don't have any buttons on the wiper stalk then k assume you must have the very base spec Octavia that doesn't even have a trip computer or remote locking etc?

I watched the YouTube video but my car doesn’t have the wiper stalk. It is basic by has the remote lock and trip computer.

Then you must have the buttons on the wiper stalk if you have a trip computer.

Does your display look like this:

are there any buttons on the wiper stalk?

for cycling through the trip display info on the dash display?

There’s a black knob kinda button that’s close to the display. That’s the trip reset and the clock time changing button.

yeah, but on the wiper / indicator stalks there should be a button for changing what the display is showing. your is on temp in the photo, it displays other stuff too. or do you buttons on the steering wheel?

I don't think you have Bluetooth then. You need the full Maxidot display to access the phone module.

I'm almost certain the pairing can't be done through the stereo.

There is a text displayed as BT- AUDIO in the sterio. I suppose there should be  a Bluetooth.

ill try again...

how do you change the big temperature display on your dashboard to, say, fuel economy or speed??

Like I said before. My guess is he has a base model (S I think) which didn't come with a trip computer.

I also thought they didn't come with remote locking either. Manual A/C and just front electric windows.

Also no fogs etc.

yeah, but surely even the base can display something other than the temp..

Nope. There is a base model that has no trip computer and no buttons on the wiper stalk.

Hence why the OP also has manual climate control.

So literally all you can do is reset the trip counter and set the time. That's it.

It then as above just shows the outside temp.

It can be retrofitted with new wiper stalk and coding though.
