Skoda Fabia Scout (2010) not starting

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Skoda Scout occasionally has an issue when starting especially when cold (below 10 degrees C).

The engine turns over but does not start and is often accompanied by a rapid clicking sounds seemingly from near the fuse box under the steering wheel.

By tapping on the fuse box I can occasionally get it to make this rapid clicking sound.  I've created a video on youtube which shows the issue.

This tends to be a bit unrepeatable, I've been to garage on several occasions but it hasn't done it!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Clicking is caused by a relay or the solenoid cycling,  it's usually caused by battery issues.

I would second that. Get the battery charged or replaced and then check. A worn battery will struggle even more, when cold and if it is the original one, fitted from new, you are lucky its still starting at all!
