Fitting a track day full harness, help please!

Featured Replies

I have my car prepared for track days, (first for this car in two weeks at Brands).

I wondered if there is a dedicated harness bar that can be fitted to accommodate a 4 point harness? I don't mind removing the rear seats if necessary.

Apart from the first few TD's that I did in a TVR with a standard inertia belt, (which was a challenge) I've always used a 4 point in my TVR's.

The 2 previous TD's that I did in previous vRS's with a standard belt entailed wedging knees and body against transmission tunnel and door, not recommended.

Any advice greatly received........

What about this which is for fabricating your own ..?

As long as the shoulder straps are not at an angle greater than 45deg - If you put this in like a rear strut brace it might work.

A roll cage will be ready for harness straps but if you dont want to go down that road you will need to drill and weld anchor plates to the bottom of the floor -

These ensure that the harness cant pull through the floor in an accident.

Even if it is a track car and is not subject to scrutiny you might want to check this out

That's pretty good and a good make of belt as well !

Whatever route you go remember don't half arse it .

You should put up a few photos of the car once you have her ready for action !!

Just in case anyone is interested. The above is my first attempt with Matt Pack peel-able paint, (like Plastidip).
