Lights out on lower dashboard cluster

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Can anyone help me - I noticed this morning that the lower cluster around the heating contols have gone out and I cannot figure out why. My 17 year old was messing around in the cars settings (he loves a touch screen) and we do not know if he has changed somehting that turns them off. We have checked through the car menus but cannot find anything that would explain this

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it looks really dark without the lights on

Thanks but we have tried everything in all settings but wondering if it is a simple thing like a blown fuse but no other lights are not working

Ok so I took it out when it was dark and they lit up when the main lights came on but when I turned the lights off they went off again. So I know they work just appears not to work if the headlights are off. I cannot find a setting for this so I am wondering if I imagined them on before now.

has anyone else experienced this?? Is this a Skoda thing? All my others cars have had the lights on permanently

TBH on my old Octavia vRS  I can't recall ever seeing them lit during daylight hours, and they don't on my current Karoq. Only when main lights are on.

It could be internal lighting levels he has played with.  Does the lighting for the dashboard also seem dim?  Car->Settings-> Lighting.....

Is this not just the result of the light switch being in the ‘OFF’ position instead of the ‘AUTO’ position. I’m sure I’ve noticed the dash lights going off when I do the above.

Hi All - I have spoken to Skoda and according to them it is the ambient light sensors making them go dark, it is a skoda thing

Thanks for all your replies
