Does anyone have the white front assist light come on with an egg timer when the vehicle is first started until you pull away ??

Yep.

usually clears within a few seconds, very occasionally can be up to about a minute.

Yes, it does.

Mine comes on when you first start the car though?. 

I guess it's just there to warn you that if you start the engine and move off immediately, the front assist won't help until it has booted up. So don't go driving forwards into your garage door! I expect at some point in the past someone did just that, and complained that the front assist hadn't stopped the crash, so they add an icon to make it explicit when the front assist isn't assisting.

I think that’s normal, the loan car (Octy 4 1.0eTec SE) I have does exactly that too.

 

@just music you joke about driving into the garage door - my daughter did just that! Put it in 1st instead of reverse. I now have a CityGo shaped dent... 🙄

Mine does the same, also most of the cars I've had previously have done something similar
