No option for Aux On/Off on Dance Radio system

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I just bought a used 2008 Fabia Auto 3 MkII with a Dance radio system. I've watched numerous youtube videos and read posts saying that to use the Aux input you need to press the Menu button and then toggle the Aux On/Off to then be able to press the CD button a few times to get Aux up as an option. My issue is that my radio system doesn't even display the Aux On/Off as an option for the top right button - it is just blank.

Could anyone please advise on what the problem might be here? If it is a wiring issue, how would I fix it? This is my first car and so I have zero experience of taking things apart in a car and rejigging them, but I'm willing to if it's not too difficult a job and I'm unlikely to cause any damage  I would have thought that because I have an aux input port that I should be able to use it somehow, but I'm drawing a blank here.

Many thanks for your help!

Have you tried just pressing CD a few times?

Posting a video of you demonstrating trying to get it to work and having no luck might help people diagnose if there's something more funky going on

Hi, yes I have pressed it a few times! It just says 'No CD' and none of the side buttons have any text that come up alongside them which based on tutorial videos I would expect to see.

they wouldn't come up from pressing CD alone, you need to press the menu button to get the buttons to the side of the LCD to show the aux on/off option

I pressed the menu button and the buttons to the side of the LCD showed everything but the aux on/off option :/

I can get a video of what happens when I press the buttons on the radio tomorrow :) thanks for the suggestion

Hi BrumTom, hope this video helps demonstrate what I meant in my original post. :) any help would be much appreciated!

If you're confident to could you take the radio out and inspect the wires going into the rear of the radio?

If the AUX option isn't showing up on the menu then the radio doesn't know it's an option so something is most likely going to be wrong in the wiring loom somewhere.

...Just went to try mine, same unit. Even without anything plugged in to the aux port (Down next to the handbrake and charger/lighter socket), nor with the ignition on so from scratch, jut press the radio on button, when on, press CD once, it switches from radio to CD. Press again and it goes to AUX. This is how it should be and how mine always has been. Obvs, nothing will happen unless you play something through the aux socket but the above setting SHOULD get you there. If not, you have a fault!

I have the same unit as well and the steps you have outlined are how I work mine.

However, in the videos its been shown pressing CD does not cycle to the AUX setting and there is no AUX setting in the menu.

Righty ho, here goes, just went out again to investigate. it can be disabled! with the unit switched on, press menu and then the top, right hand switch/button/channel selector thing says either aux on or aux off. Cycle this and it goes on or off and if off, the aux is disabled! Logical, really! Press menu, press so aux on is up and then press menu again or I think it goes back to normal after a short while, anyway.

Hopefully, this will reinstate your aux function. (Bit long-winded but hopefully clear). Given that there is no aux logo at all, perhaps the port on the rear of the unit is unplugged or perhaps the aux port has a fuse and it is blown. You could also try disconnecting the battery for a while as the units code won't be affected if its the correct one and it does its own test afterward. It may then work, with a little luck.

HI Zotta did you get this problem sorted? Just bought a 2009 Skoda Fabia estate , having exactly the same issue

My guess is they did what I mentioned above and sorted it so did not need to follow up. Have a try.
