VAG but not Skoda (sorry) need VAGCOM advice

My lad bought a 2016 B8 passat (boooo, hissssss), his radio keeps losing all its presets, sometimes starts up on the SD card - present or not - wont play SD card, cant tune chanels in...

can Vagcom update its software (VW want £90 to diagnose)

its FM/DAB but no satnav

At a guess, that'll be a MIB2 Discover Pro which is basically a MIB2 Columbus.

You don't need VCDS to perform an update but it can be used to clear a harmless error message after the update

Once you've confirmed the exact part number and software version, I'm sure @pab567 can provide an update if it exists...

That part number seems to be a composition media (no sat nav)...?

A quick google suggests 0627 exists for it, no idea if it's publicly available or correct for the headunit though :/

This is my 2012 Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo, It is a 1.6 TDI 105 ps model with 89k miles. I bought it on the first of February and have imported it into Ireland since,however it has sat for since due to it being a pain to get insurance. Since it didn't need anything I only clayed and polished the paint,hopefully I will be able to get a remap in the coming months to about 140 ps but I have no other plans for the car. I can't justify doing anything right now as everything on the car is

I thought I’d add a post in case it helps anyone else. I searched the forum for the file layout to import playlists on my L&K spec Columbus head unit but didn’t really find much. So a bit of digging on the interweb and found a great free utility called mp3tag. I used this to edit the id3 tags on a bunch of tracks in a folder, “selected all” and then “create a playlist” (Remove the file path c:\ bits) so it’s myplaylist.m3u and saved it in the same directory as the .mp3 files. Transferred

We bought our Scala Monte Carlo Edition 1.5 tsi back in December and from late January it has had both mechanical problems and electronic gremlins. The mechanical problem have mostly been sorted, new rear discs and pads that were making noises like a wheel bearing was rumbling, the gearbox has had a software update and a reset (it's still not perfect). And the road noise is just the high dB tyres and lack of sound insulation. The electronic gremlins were put down to a failing 12v battery which

Any one know what this icon is for? it only shows up on the home screen for the audio media. not on the full screen for the audio. It changes shade when its pressed but i cant see that it dose anything. I can't see the icon in the manual ether. Thanks
