Asking for navigation and my Headunit opens my phone contacts!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Here's a fun one....

I used the voice command for the first time on my vRS today (MIB2.5) and asked for navigation to a local street. The unit then opened my contacts and found the closest name in my contacts to the street i asked for, then asked if i wanted direction to my sister Lucy!

I assume this is a software glitch!

There's your first problem.  You used the Voice Commands on the MIB system.  Big mistake.

There are a number of bug fixes which can be fixed with 0478 - you might want speak with @pab567who can assist there.  If you are not technically proficient, then come

back to me and I'll see what I can do to assist.

How did you issue the command. As far as I know you have to say Navigation first then you are prompted for the city and road. That said I don't find the voice controls that good. I have the latest firmware 0478 as well.

I did exactly as you describe, but as soon as i put the road name in, it opens my contacts, Its not really a bother (in fact its rather amusing) as i tend not to use the voice command.

Still would like to get my firmware updated though :)

How to do firmware upgrade is here:
