Transportation blocks still in place three years later

Featured Replies

We bought a Skoda Superb from Carbase which had a full service history, 60k on the clock and the box ticked for good suspension by the RAC.

On the drive home, there are several potholes (we live in Pothole City aka Bristol), the noise was deafening as we hit them.  A little bit of research told us these blocks could be the problem, but three years later?  No Way.

Shockingly no shocks.

Carbase have removed these blocks (two on each side) and replaced the buffers but no apology.

We have been told that there is no other damage and on a plus we now have brand new front suspension but at what cost?

I feel that Carbase, Skoda and the RAC need to be held to account - what do you think?

hi, i think you neea mod to move your thread to the superb section first, this is the firum feedback section ;)

Ahhh - there were so many choices!  OK Thanks

I've left it in Gen Auto Chat though as it could potentially have happened on any model of car.

Thank you!

It would be interesting to know what actually the Full Service History shows that was supposedly done at any services.

If the Dealership that did the Servicing is a Skoda Approved Repairer then Skoda UK should be made aware.

Re the likes of a RAC 82 point check.

'Audited at least 6 times a year to ensure they are preparing all vehicles to RAC standards.'    so this will be a FAIL.

I traded a car in at a garage and they had it advertised as soon as it was dropped off on their website, awaiting pictures, & with a RAC Inspection & Warranty, that was within the hour of them getting it.  They had never seen the car before it was dropped off and the workshop was not open.
